Who are Durango Magazine readers?
Durango Magazine readers include hotel guests, business travelers, Fort Lewis College parents, skiers, local business owners, Durango newcomers and La Plata County homeowners. The Buxton Visa Inc. survey from 2013 found the largest categories of area visitors to be educated and married baby boomers (aged 51-plus) who frequently read print magazines and earn household incomes of more than $100,000 a year. They originate primarily from New Mexico, Colorado and Texas with additional large numbers visiting from Arizona and California.
How is Durango Magazine distributed?
With 32,000 copies distributed for Summer/Fall 2017 and 28,000 for Winter/Spring 2017-18 and a conservative estimate of five or more readers per copy, some 300,000 people see and read a magazine each year. Distribution is complimentary to guests of nearly 3,000 rooms at participating Durango area lodging establishments. Approximately 20,000 copies a year are mailed to La Plata County businesses and homeowners, as well as subscribers around the country. Additional distribution includes paid delivery to newcomers and distribution to high-traffic venues around town including the chamber and welcome center, airport, Purgatory and more. When are Durango Magazine publication dates and distribution times?
The Winter/Spring issue is distributed December through May. Advertising deadlines for Winter/Spring 2017-18 are September 18 for space; October 2 for materials. The Summer/Fall issue is distributed June through November. Deadlines for Summer/Fall 20 18 are March 19 for space; April 2 for materials.
